About your Instructor

Hi. My name is Rod Russell. I’m a music coach, pianist, author and entertainer.

A few years ago I created a home learning program for piano that lets anyone of any age play their favorite popular songs – without years of lessons! I’ve helped over 37,000 people just like you learn to play piano with this unique system.

How I discovered this, and what it can mean for you

Have you ever been disillusioned after working really hard for something you wanted? I sure was! I wanted to play the piano. At the time, I was listening to Jerry Lee Lewis, Floyd Cramer, Ray Charles and others. I wanted to play like them.

So, I started taking traditional piano lessons. It wasn’t much fun, just a lot of work, frustration and stress. But I didn’t know there was any other way to learn to play. My dream was to play with a dance band. Then one day, by chance, I was offered an opportunity to join a popular group. I really wanted to play in this band.

That was when I realized what I had spent years learning wasn’t of much use when it came to playing music people actually wanted to hear. And I definitely didn’t have the knowledge needed to play popular tunes with a band.

Disappointed? You bet! I was devastated. All that time, work and money… and for what?

It was a big let-down, yet in many ways I'm thankful for it. It forced me to go on a journey that not only changed my life, but also the lives of tens of thousands of men and women all over the world.
